This is our first-time making a game. We ran out of time learning how to code movement, so we only have a GDD and an incomplete movement tech demo to show. :(

Introduction:

No Bread For The Mods is a 2D top-down stealth adventure puzzle with elements of rogue-lite. It is about a delivery man going above and beyond to deliver the bread ordered mods in Long Lemon’s captivity.

Gameplay overview:

The player character’s goal is to traverse the domain of L.L to find the moderators. Gameplay includes hiding in the environment and transmogrifying into items to avoid detection.

Should the player be detected, a boss (L.L) chase will ensue until the player is caught, where the player’s held items will be confiscated and the player will be ejected from the domain, or respawned at a checkpoint, if said checkpoint has been found.

The game will consist of 7 levels with varying rooms, items and locations to hide from or evade the boss searching and chasing the player. The player’s goal on each level is to find the moderators while evading the boss capture.

The player can pick up (donation) money scattered throughout the levels to buy items or upgrade skills at the beginning again.

Goblins snitches will be patrolling around every level to alert L.L to the player’s last known location.
